Recruiting the next generation of industrial professionals takes visibility, engagement, and authenticity. That’s why MPW prioritizes face-to-face career fair participation, most recently at Lincoln Technical College in Indianapolis.
MPW Recruiting Manager Jacob McCullough and Recruiter Juwanna Phillips attended the May event to showcase career paths within the company. They spoke with prospective employees about MPW’s industrial services, in-house equipment engineering, and company values, including safety, innovation, and growth. Their presence helped put a human face on the brand and sparked real-time conversations about careers at MPW.
“Attending job fairs is crucial because our youth are the future,” Phillips said. “We have to start now by getting involved and teaching them about job opportunities, skills, and how to prepare for the workforce.”
Job seekers responded enthusiastically. Many valued the personal interaction and said it was refreshing to meet recruiters genuinely interested in their goals. Several cited MPW’s advanced mobile unit engineering and commitment to safety as key attractions.
“These fairs are invaluable for identifying talent who are not only skilled but also passionate about growing within the industrial services sector,” McCullough said.
The recruiters also demonstrated AI-powered tools, highlighting MPW’s modern, tech-forward approach. This impressed attendees along with Phillips’ energetic approach.
“Engaging directly with candidates at events like the Lincoln Tech Job Fair allows us to showcase the dynamic career paths MPW offers. It’s about making real connections and finding individuals who align with our company’s values and mission,” McCullough said.
Candidates also learned about safety and training, including OSHA 30 certification and MPW’s continuous safety education model. These reinforced MPW’s investment in employee success.
Beyond talent acquisition, such events help MPW refine outreach strategies and improve promotional materials. “It’s about more than filling positions; it’s about empowering individuals with the knowledge and resources to build successful careers,” Phillips said.
The Lincoln Tech Spring Career Fair drew nearly 100 companies, underscoring its role in connecting employers with skilled candidates across various trades.
Job fairs offer direct access to a diverse talent pool, enabling face-to-face interaction and immediate screening. They also boost brand visibility, showcase company culture, and foster networking with other industry professionals.
