Anthony Tagliaferro Named MPW Salary Employee of the Year

MPW is proud to recognize EHS Manager Anthony Tagliaferro as our 2024 Salary Employee of the Year. This honor reflects not only Tagliaferro’s remarkable personal contributions, but also his ongoing commitment to supporting every group and team across the company.

“Anthony leads by example, and his work protects our people, supports our clients, and strengthens our reputation,” said President Jared Black.

Tagliaferro’s leadership as a safety professional drove measurable improvements across MPW’s health and safety programs. Over the past year alone, the team recorded a significant drop in workplace incidents and workers’ compensation claims, with associated costs and severities also on the decline. These outcomes are directly linked to Tagliaferro’s relentless efforts, from updating policies and developing procedures, to empowering employees with the tools to work safely.

“I’m proud of this accomplishment,” Tagliaferro said. “It’s nice to have a way to recognize hard work and know that what you’re doing makes a difference. Good work doesn’t go unnoticed at MPW.”

Tagliaferro and his team led the revision and republication of both the ESG and Safety and Health programs, converting the ESG initiative into a comprehensive sustainability report. He was also a contributing author to the new WJTA Orange Book and played a key role in maintaining a SharePoint library of over 450 safety resources—policies, forms, emergency action plans, and more—used company-wide to continuously improve our strong safety culture.

“Helping employees and leaders is what I take the most pride in,” Tagliaferro said. “I want to be the best resource I can be—whether it’s answering a question, solving a problem, or just being there when someone needs support.”

“Anthony is a true professional who believes in the well-being of MPW employees,” said IW General Manager Tim Dondero. “With his experience across all groups, he relates issues that occur in one area to others, helping us be proactive with safety instead of reactive. He’s always willing to help.”

District Manager Mike Nicholson also reflected on Tagliaferro’s career growth: “I originally hired him as a safety supervisor, promoted him to Northeast Safety Manager, and when the opportunity came up in corporate safety, I recommended him to Matt Dawson. From there, it just evolved.”

Director of Training and Safety Matt Dawson summed it up simply: “Any reason you can think of for someone to deserve Employee of the Year, Anthony exceeds it. He meets or surpasses every standard—exceptional performance, professionalism, and above all, he serves the mission and the people.”

With seven years at MPW and six in the safety department, Tagliaferro’s career progression is a clear example of how doing good work at MPW is noticed and rewarded. “This award is about meeting and exceeding our standards and expectations,” Dawson said. “Anthony does that consistently and makes our company better.”

Beyond results, such as zero failed audits and leading more than 40 executive incident reviews in 2024, Tagliaferro’s attitude sets him apart. “Positive and calm, he sees challenges as opportunities,” Dawson said. “His focus is always on how to make things safer and more effective for the people in the field. He never loses sight of who this work is for.”

MPW congratulates Anthony Tagliaferro on this well-earned recognition—and thanks him for modeling what great looks like.
