IS General Manager Matt Dawson, who took over for Jimmy Peck at the beginning of September, credits the strength of the IS team for a smooth transition. After nearly a decade as Director of Safety and Training, Dawson is familiar with the IS Team and its business.
“In a nutshell, this role is about supporting and serving people,” Dawson said. “That means getting obstacles out of their way, providing resources, and helping them succeed.”
Dawson described his first weeks as a time of listening and learning. “Jimmy and the MPW-IS Team, past and present, built (and continue improving) a rock-solid foundation. What has been great to feel and see directly is the thought and effort poured into work daily.”
One of the current initiatives is an assessment to gather feedback on what should be sustained, where improvements can be made, and what new ideas could benefit the business.
“The goal of the assessment is to build a shared understanding, inform priority decisions, and guide our focus,” Dawson said. At the same time, he stressed continuity, noting that Industrial Services remains focused on safely delivering quality results for customers.
Dawson summed it up with, “People are the key, and we are blessed in that department, closely followed by care for our equipment. The team’s dedication and talent continue to drive success, with equally great support from MPW.”
Dawson is excited about moving forward together with the IS team, aligned with MPW’s values and long-term strategy. “If anyone has ideas, questions, or concerns, I welcome the opportunity to discuss them,” he said.
